April (so far)

The month has been busy already. Here's a quick summary (with some pics).

I moved to a side-office from cube-land in our Suite. The pro: I face the river (see previous posts for my view--it's pretty kick-ass) and I sit in an office with funny funny people. The con: I no longer sit by Sam and Jim, my lifelines, and the side-office is actually more distracting than the cubes--there are 4 of us in a room and it can get loud or we just talk instead of work. But I'll learn to be productive this week--I have lots to do.

I have started spring cleaning/home improvements. Last weekend, I bought a patio set--table and 4 chairs--so that I can start having people over for meals and drinks. I cleared out the dead plant I inherited and planted some flowers which may die tonight because it's really cold. Most importantly, though, I cleaned the moss off the wall that separates me and Harriet. It looks REALLY good. After all of this, I decided to name my patio "The Regal Beagle" (in honor of the great Three's Company hot-spot). Get ready for an invite to Happy Hour once the weather warms again.

My friends Brad and Moira both bought condos a few weeks ago. It was exciting to walk with them through that process. They both applied to the show House Hunters after our realtor proposed the idea, and Brad is actually going to be on it (with his good friend Moira having a cameo or two)! Filming is in June, I believe. I'll let you know so you all can set your TiVo.

This past week was our annual-ish Company Meeting. This year it was in Portland. It was 3 packed days but a GREAT time. It was great to feel like I knew a bunch of the San Francisco people from the last meeting. It was motivating and made me really excited to be part of InsideTrack. I'll come to work Monday with renewed motivation for my current role and whatever else I have coming down the road.

I decided to take a day off Friday since I haven't had a vacation in a while. I knew I'd need to recover from the Company Meeting. Instead of doing nothing all day, I decided to finally do a little painting in my condo. Here are some before and after shots. I painted my bedroom and 2 hallways. It's really nice to have something other than blue all over my place. I like the blue, but not THAT much. I do have to say that painting is hard work. I am very sore and I think I used muscles I never knew I had. It's amazing the leg workout you get when you are standing on a step-stool and gripping with your feet for dear-life because you're terrified you'll fall 2 feet (sad, but that is how afraid of heights I am).

Well, the next few weeks will continue to be busy. I have people visiting for the next 3 weekends, so I'm going to take it easy tomorrow.
